This is a shot I have tried to get for a few years now that I was finally able to capture last night. If you are familiar with my work then you know I love shooting here at the Morrison Bro’s Silos in Gilbert, AZ. I recently found out that the area is being developed for housing, but even tho the silos remain the beautiful landscape it sits on will be gone soon. So this is probably one of the last times I will get to shoot here without houses being in the way. So grabbing this shot last night was a huge success for me as I have been trying to get this shot for the last few years. I would have loved for the lighting to be closer, but by the time it did the dust storm hit and the lightning was too close for comfort. Standing next to 3 huge metallic silos during a lightning storm seems like a really bad idea. So once the dust hit I hid in my car for a few minutes hoping it would pass, but the winds were so strong and that lightning quickly followed making it unsafe conditions to shoot in.
All in all I can now mark this shot off my list and I move on to the next one.
